When you want to create an image that will be used as the cover or frontispiece of a magazine, you’ll need to know how to wrap an object in Illustrator. This is especially important if you want to create a design that will be seen from a distance and will look professional. There are three main ways to wrap an object in Illustrator:
- Linear: This is the most common way to wrap an object, and it’s the simplest. Just draw a line around the object, and then use the Pen tool to add a bend or curve. You can also use the Round tool to make the object round.
- Radial: This method is more complex, but it can create more interesting results. First, start by drawing a circle around the object. Then use one of the radial tools (such as Round or Curl) to make it larger or smaller than the circle. Next, use Pencil and Paths Toehold Toehold Toehold (or any other radial tool) to draw lines around each of the circles. Finally, use The Brush Tool and paint over any of the lines so that they form a spiral pattern around the object.
- Circular: This method is similar to Linear but uses circular shapes instead of circles around an object. Start by drawing a basic circle using Pencil and Paths Toehold Toehold (or any other radial tool). Then use The Brush Tool and paint over any of these circles so that they form spokes around the object.
