If you’re like most people, you probably have at least one PlayStation 4. But if you’re like me, you also have an old PS4 that you use for storage and occasional play. If you want to move your data from your old PS4 to the new PS4 without having to format it or reinstall your game, here are some tips.
- Make a copy of your game saves One way to move data between your old and new PlayStation 4s is to make a copy of your game saves. This will help you if something goes wrong and you lose all of your data on the old PS4. You can also do this if you want to switch platforms or if you want to downgrade or uninstall a game on the new PS4 without losing any data.
- Format the hard drive If you don’t have any other option, formatting the hard drive may be a good idea in order to move data between your old and new PlayStation 4s. This will help make sure that all of your data is safe and sound when moving it over. You can do this by going into Settings > System > Storage > Hard Drive > New Hard Drive (if it’s not already set up). Once it’s set up, press OK to start formatting the hard drive.
