There are three ways to split an image into its RGB components in Photoshop:

  1. Choose the Image > Split command. This will create a new layer on the canvas, and then select all of the pixels on the left and right sides of the image. You can then drag these pixels around to create a split image.
  2. Choose Image > Mode > PhotoShop > Photo Merge mode. This will merge all of the pixels on the left and right sides of the image into one big pixel, making it easier to see which colors are being used in each part of the image.
  3. Use Image > Mode > Screen Space> Clone Stamp command to create a clone of each pixel on either side of the original image, and then use Image > Mode > Screen Space> Clone Stamp again to create a split image that has both images as its layers.
