Sony’s PlayStation 4 is one of the most popular gaming platforms on the planet, and it’s not going to be going anywhere soon. But there are ways to shut down the console without having to go through a formal process. Here are five tips:

  1. Disable PS4’s online features This is probably the most common way to shut down PS4, and it’s easy enough to do. Just go into your PlayStation 4 settings and select “Network & Security.” Under “Security,” select “Disable online features.” This will prevent PS4 from connecting to any online services, including PlayStation Network.
  2. Disable parental controls If you have parental controls enabled on your PS4, then you’ll need to disable them as well. Just go into your PlayStation 4 settings and select “Parental Controls.” Under “Settings,” select “Appearance & Privacy.” On the left side of the screen, select “Disable parental controls.” This will prevent PS4 from disabling any parental controls that you have set up for your child.
  3. Disable Bluetooth connection sharing If you’re using Bluetooth connection sharing with other devices in your home, then you’ll need to disable it as well. Just go into your PlayStation 4 settings and select “Bluetooth & Wireless.” Under “Settings,” select “Connection Sharing.” On the left side of the screen, select “Disable Bluetooth connection sharing.” This will prevent other devices from connecting to PS4 through Bluetooth connections.
