If you’re looking to get into virtual reality, PlayStation VR is the way to go. Here’s how to set it up on your PS4.

  1. First, make sure that your PS4 is updated to the latest firmware version. This will ensure that your console is compatible with PlayStation VR.
  2. Next, connect your PS4 to the internet using an Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi connection.
  3. Once connected, open the PlayStation VR Home screen by pressing the “PSVR” button on your controller and selecting “Home” from the menu that appears.
  4. On the Home screen, select “System Settings” from the top menu bar and then select “Devices” from the sub-menu that appears.
  5. Select “PlayStation VR” from the list of devices and press the “Set Up” button located in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
  6. On the next screen, you will be asked to provide some basic information about your PS4 system such as its model number and serial number (if applicable). You will also be asked to choose a user name and password for your account in PlayStation VR (these are not necessary for basic use of PlayStation VR but may be helpful if you want to share content with other players).
  7. After providing this information, you will be prompted to insert a memory card into your PS4 system in order to store downloaded content (games, movies etc.). If you do not have a memory card inserted at this point, one will be automatically inserted when you complete step 8 below).
  8. After inserting a memory card into your PS4 system, press OK on step 7 above and then press Play on step 8 below to begin downloading content onto your memory card for use with PlayStation VR later on (games etc.). Content can take some time to download so please be patient ..
