PlayStation 4 parental controls are a great way to keep your children safe and protected while playing games. By setting up parental controls on your PS4, you can limit access to certain games, movies, and TV shows for your children. You can also set up rules about when and how much time they can spend playing these games, watching these movies, or watching these TV shows. To set up parental controls on your PS4, follow these steps:

  1. Open the PlayStation 4 system software. This is located in the “System” folder on the hard drive of your PlayStation 4 system.
  2. In the “System” folder, find the “Settings” folder. This folder is located under the “ Playstation 4” heading in the file list on the left side of the screen.
  3. In the “Settings” folder, find the “Parental Controls” folder. Thisfolder is located under the “ Playstation 4/User Settings/General” heading in the file list on the left side of the screen.
  4. In thisfolder, findthe following files: Parental ControlsSetup .exe Parental Controls .cfg Parental Controls .xml
  5. Copy and paste these files into your game console’s “User Settings” directory (on a computer where you have administrative privileges). For example, if you are logged into your account as an administrator at a school or work site, then you would place these files in that directory instead of in their default " Playstation 4/User Settings" directory (which is where you would place other user settings files). If you are not logged into your account as an administrator and want to create new user settings directories for yourself, see How to Set Up Parental Controls on PS4 for more information about how to do this.
  6. Close all open systems software windows on your PlayStation 4 system by pressing
