If you’re like most people, you probably have a ton of swatches saved in your Illustrator files. But if you want to keep them all organized and easy to access, you need to start saving them as files. Here’s how:

  1. Open your Illustrator file and select the object or objects you want to save the swatches for.
  2. Click the “Swatches” tab on the Properties panel and click the “Create New Swatch” button.
  3. Name your new swatch and click OK.
  4. Select the object or objects you want to save the new swatch for and click the “Swatches” tab on the Properties panel again.
  5. Click the “Import Swatch” button next to your new swatch name and select your previously saved swatches from your Illustrator file(s). ..
