When you’re working with illustrations, it’s important to save color swatches in Illustrator so that you can easily change the colors in your illustrations without having to go back and forth between the color palette and Illustrator. Here are a few tips on how to do this:
- Choose a color palette that you like and then create a new layer on top of it. This will give you a clean slate to work with.
- Choose an area of your illustration where you want to change the color and then click on the color swatch in the Swatches palette and drag it into the new area.
- When you’ve dragged the swatch all the way into the new area, click on OK to close Illustrator and return to your original layer in Photoshop or another graphics program.
