If you’re like most people, you probably save high resolution JPEGs as files with a .jpg extension. But what if you want to save a file as a PNG? PNG is an image format that’s perfect for saving images that are large or have complex shapes. You can also use PNG to create graphics that are easier to print out or share online. To save a PNG in Illustrator, follow these steps:

  1. Choose File > Save As… and select the type of file you want to save: JPEG, PNG, or TIFF.
  2. In the Save As dialog box, choose a location for the file and name it whatever you want. For example, if you named the file “myfile.png,” then your saved PNG would be called “myfile.“png.
  3. Click OK to close the Save As dialog box and start Illustrator.
