Sony Interactive Entertainment America (SIE) has announced that it will make PS4 accounts the primary account for all users. This change is effective from the company’s next software update, which is set to go live on November 15th. This move comes as a response to customer feedback that suggests that many people are using multiple accounts in order to play games and other online activities. SIE says that this practice is “unsustainable” and “unsatisfactory.” Previously, users could create an additional account for use as a backup or secondary account if their primary PS4 account was lost or stolen. However, this feature will no longer be available after the update. If you have an existing PS4 account, you will need to switch your primary one to become a PS4 user with the new policy. If you don’t have an existing PS4 account, you can create one by visiting the PlayStation website and clicking on the “Create New Account” button.
