There are a few ways to make a semicircle in Illustrator. The easiest way is to use the Polygonal tool. To make the semicircle, click on the Polygonal tool and drag it to the center of the circle. The polygon will be created automatically and will be very small. To make it bigger, hold down the Option key and drag it towards the edge of the circle.
