Sony has announced that they will be making PS4 backwards compatible with games that were released on the console before its release in November of last year. This is a huge step for the company, as it means that gamers can enjoy their old games without having to worry about compatibility issues. There are a few things that gamers need to do in order to make their PS4 compatible with older games. First, they must create a backup of their game data. This can be done by copying all of your game files and folders to a new location, or by creating a new PlayStation 4 account and deleting all of your old files. Next, they must update their PlayStation 4 firmware to at least 4.50. This update will add support for older games, and will also fix some compatibility issues. If you have not updated your firmware yet, you can do so by going to the PlayStation website and clicking on the “Firmware Update” link. Once you have downloaded the firmware update, install it on your PlayStation 4. Finally, they must make sure that all of their old game saves are still valid. This can be done by going into the “Settings” menu on your PlayStation 4 and selecting “Saves” from the drop-down list. Then, select “Check for updates” and click on the check box next to “Update my save data every time I start my console”. Finally, click on the OK button to finish setting up your PS4 for backwards compatibility.
