There are a few things you need before starting to make a new artboard in Illustrator. First, you’ll need to create a new layer on the canvas. Then, you’ll need to select the Rectangle tool and click on the center of your artboard. Next, drag the rectangle to the right or left until it’s about 1/4 inch from the edge of your artboard. Finally, use the arrow keys to move it around and resize it if necessary.
