There are a few things you need before starting to make a Photoshop column: an image editor, such as Adobe Photoshop, or Microsoft Paint; a document that will be the column’s content; and some basic skills in graphic design. To start, create a new document in Photoshop. Choose File > New > Column. In the resulting dialog box, enter a name for your column and choose a width of 100 pixels. Click OK to create the column. Next, select an image editor and create a new document with the same width as your column’s content. Choose File > New > Image. In the resulting dialog box, enter an image filename and click OK to create the image. Now it’s time to start designing your columns! In order to make sure your images look good when printed, make sure they’re at least 72 dpi (dots per inch). To do this, choose File > Save As… and type in “72dpi.” Click OK to save the file as an image file.
