When you create illustrations, you often have to flatten them in order to save space. This is a common practice in graphic design because Illustrator files are typically quite large. However, it’s also a good practice when flattening Illustrator files to reduce the number of layers and make them easier to work with. To flatten an Illustrator file, open it in the File menu and select Flatten. Then, use the following steps to reduce the number of layers:
- Choose a layer name and click on the Edit button on the toolbar.
- In the Layer Properties dialog box, set the following properties:
- Click on OK to close the Layer Properties dialog box.
- Repeat these steps for all other layers in your file.
