If you’re one of the millions of PlayStation 4 owners who have had trouble turning on your console this year, there’s a good chance that it’s because of something simple and easy to fix: a bad connection. Here are four tips to help you fix your PS4 so that it works properly again:
- Make sure your PS4 is connected to the network. If it isn’t, make sure you’re using the latest firmware and/or connecting through a better cable.
- Check your power cord. Make sure it’s properly plugged in and that there’s no obstructions in the way of its flow.
- Check your PS4’s settings. Make sure they’re set to “On.” If they’re not, make them as follows: “Network” -> “On” -> “Wi-Fi” -> “On.”
- Reset your PS4 if it hasn’t been done recently: Open up the console by pressing and holding down both power buttons at once for about 10 seconds until you see an orange light come on (this will reset all of its settings). Then release both buttons and press them again to turn off the console completely
