If you’re a PlayStation 4 owner, you may have noticed that your external hard drive is either corrupted or has stopped working. Here’s how to fix it for PS4:
- Make sure your external hard drive is properly connected to your PlayStation 4. If it isn’t, make sure the power cord is plugged in and the computer is turned on.
- Open up Sony’s online account and log in to your account. If you don’t have an online account, create one now.
- In the “My Games” section of your PlayStation 4 system, locate the “PS4” icon and click on it. This will take you to a page where you can find your “External Hard Drive.” Underneath this heading, you’ll see a list of devices that are connected to your PlayStation 4 system. If there’s an “External Hard Drive” listed but it doesn’t appear under any other heading, make sure the drive is properly connected and turn on the PlayStation 4 system by pressing its power button for about 10 seconds until it starts showing signs of life (a green light should be coming on). Once the green light goes out, press down on the hard drive’s name until you see a message saying that it has been successfully connected and started up (this should take about 2 minutes). Now open up Sony’s online account again and log in to your account so that all of your data will be backed up!
