If you find yourself constantly erasing lines in Illustrator, there are a few tricks you can use to help keep your artwork looking clean and professional. Here are four ways to erase lines in Illustrator:
- Use the Eraser Tool. This is the simplest way to erase lines - just click and drag the cursor over the line you want to erase.
- Use the Pen Tool. The Pen Tool lets you draw on top of existing lines, which can be helpful if you need to add a new line or edit an existing one. Just click and hold down the mouse button while drawing with the Pen Tool, and then release it when you’re done.
- Use the Direct Selection Tool (A). The Direct Selection Tool lets you select specific areas of a line by clicking and dragging - great for if you need to edit only part of a line or if you want to delete it completely.
- Use the Blend Mode Command (M). The Blend Mode Command lets you change how lines appear together - perfect if you need to combine different types of lines into one image, for example. To use this command, first select your desired line type (either with the Eraser Tool or Direct Selection Tool), then choose from one of five blend modes: Normal, Darken, Lighten, Blur, or Screen (see below for more information on each mode). ..
