In Photoshop, you can create a new layer by clicking on the New Layer button in the palette, or by pressing the + key on your keyboard. When you create a new layer, Photoshop creates a blank canvas on which to work. You can use this canvas to create any type of image you like, including photos, illustrations, and videos. To add text to your new layer, click on the Text tool in the palette and type some text into the text box at the top of the screen. You can also use the arrow keys to move and resize your text while it is still in its original position. When you’re finished creating your new layer, press OK to close it and return to your original document.
