If you have a dryer with wool balls, it’s time to clean them. The balls trap lint and fabric particles, which can cause your dryer to overheat and even catch on fire. Here’s how to clean them:
- Remove the lint filter and the cover of the dryer drum.
- Remove the wool balls from the drum by hand or using a vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment. If there are too many balls to remove easily, use a brush to loosen them up.
- Place the wool balls in a large bowl filled with warm water (105 degrees F or 40 degrees C). Soak for 10 minutes, then drain well.
- Add 1 cup of white vinegar to the bowl and stir well. Let soak for another 10 minutes, then drain again. Repeat this process three times, rinsing each time with fresh water before adding new vinegar mixture and Balls to the bowl.
- Allow the Balls to air-dry for at least 24 hours before using your dryer again ..
