If you own a telescope, it’s important to keep the eyepieces clean. Not only will this help you see better through your telescope, but it will also prevent any dust or dirt from building up on the lenses. Here are four easy ways to clean your telescope eyepieces:

  1. Use a soft cloth or lens cleaning tissue to gently wipe down the lenses. Make sure to get into all the nooks and crannies.
  2. If your eyepieces have filters, remove them and wash them in warm water with a mild soap. Be sure to rinse them thoroughly before replacing them on the telescope.
  3. If your eyepieces don’t have filters, use a cotton swab dipped in alcohol or isopropyl alcohol to clean them. Be careful not to let the liquid get inside the lens!
  4. Finally, if all else fails, you can try using a can of compressed air to blow out any dust or dirt that may be lodged inside the lenses ..
