If you’re like most people, you probably use clear aligners to improve your teeth’s alignment. But like any other type of dental adhesive, clear aligners can become dirty and need to be cleaned. Here are four ways to clean clear aligners:

  1. Use a toothbrush and toothpaste. Brush the aligner off of your teeth and use a pea-sized amount of toothpaste on the bristles. Rub the paste around the edges of the aligner and then rinse off with water.
  2. Use a damp cloth or paper towel. Wet the cloth or paper towel and wring it out so that it’s slightly damp but not dripping wet. Gently wipe down the surface of the aligner with the cloth or paper towel, being careful not to get any paste on your teeth or gums.
  3. Use an alcohol-based cleaner. Pour about 1/4 cup of alcohol onto a cotton ball or piece of tissue paper and hold it against one end of the aligner while gently rubbing it against the other end until it’s clean. Rinse off with water if necessary.
  4. Use an electronic cleaner . Some electronic cleaners specifically designed for cleaning clear aligners work well, but be sure to read instructions before using them so that you don’t damage your device or your teeth! ..
