If you’re like most people, you probably don’t think much about cleaning your chamois cloth. After all, it’s just a piece of cloth that helps you ride your bike. But if you’re like me, you know that your chamois cloth is one of the most important parts of your cycling kit. Chamois cloth is made from a special type of fabric that is designed to absorb sweat and protect the skin on your back. Over time, dirt and sweat can build up on the surface of the chamois cloth and make it difficult to clean. Here are four easy steps to cleaning your chamois cloth:
- Wet the chamois cloth in cool water and wring it out completely.
- Soak the chamois cloth in a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water for 10 minutes. Rinse it off thoroughly with cold water.
- Apply a light coat of petroleum jelly to the surface of the chamois cloth and let it dry completely before using it again.
- If necessary, repeat steps 2-4 every few days to keep your chamois clean and free from dirt and sweat buildup ..
