If you have a carbon filter on your air purifier, it’s important to clean it regularly. The carbon filter traps particles in the air and helps to improve air quality. Here are four ways to clean your carbon filter:
- Use a vacuum cleaner with a hose attachment. Put the vacuum cleaner on the lowest setting and turn it on. Put the hose attachment over the carbon filter and turn the vacuum cleaner on. Keep turning the vacuum cleaner until all of the dust and debris is gone.
- Use a can of compressed air. Open up the can of compressed air and point it at the carbon filter. Turn on the compressor and wait until it starts to sputter before releasing the pressure. Keep pointing and releasing the pressure until all of the dust and debris is gone.
- Pour boiling water over the carbon filter. Put a pot or pan with enough water to cover the carbon filter on medium heat, then put in your carbon filter*. When boiling water is coming out of both ends of your carbon filter*, it means that it’s time to take it off of heat.* Pour boiling water over your carbonfilter* for about 10 minutes, or until all ofthe dust and debris is gone.*
- Use an electronic brush cleaner . This typeof cleaner uses an electronic motor that rotates around an abrasive pad .
