If your vacuum cleaner hose is clogged, it can be a real pain to clean. Here’s how to do it without resorting to using a plunger:
- Turn off the vacuum cleaner and unplug the power cord.
- Remove the dirt and debris from the hose with a brush or your hand.
- Pour a pot of boiling water onto the floor near where the vacuum cleaner is plugged in and turn on the vacuum cleaner.
- Quickly move away from the machine as steam starts coming out of it.
- Reach up into the hose and pull on it until it comes loose from the machine’s connection point (usually at one end).
- Pour a pot of cold water into a bucket or sink, place the clogged end of the hose in it, and turn on cold water until cold (a few minutes).
- Reach up into the hose again and pull on it until all of the water has been sucked out (it should now be very wet).
- Hang up or discard the clogged end of hose carefully, being sure not to touch any metal parts that may have been exposed to electricity during cleaning (these can cause an electrical shock). ..
