If you own a telescope, it’s important to keep it clean. A dirty telescope will not only reduce its viewing quality, but also increase the chances of damage. Here are four easy steps to cleaning your telescope:
- Remove the eyepiece and any other obstructions from the eyepiece port.
- Wet a soft cloth with warm water and wring it out. Place the cloth over the lens of the telescope and wipe in a circular motion. Be sure to clean around the edges of the lens as well.
- Dry off the telescope with a soft cloth and replace any obstructions you removed in step 1.
