When you first get a Playstation 4, it comes with a default controller. If you don’t want to use it, you can buy one separately. But before you do, calibrate it. Calibrating your controller is important because it will help you play games more comfortably and with less pain. You’ll need to do this in two ways: by adjusting the buttons and by calibrating the movement of the sticks. Adjusting the buttons:
- Look at the Playstation 4’s instruction manual and find out how to adjust the buttons. There are three main positions: left, right, and center. The center position is usually where your hand is when playing games.
- To adjust the buttons, first line up each button so that they are in line with each other on the PlayStation 4’s screen (or on your own controller). Then press down on one of them until it feels like it has moved (you may have to do this in multiple directions).
- Now adjust each button until it feels comfortable for you. You can also try moving them around a little bit if that helps too.
- Once you’ve calibrated your controllers, make sure to play some games and see how they feel!
