If you’re like most PS4 owners, you probably have a lot of games, apps, and data stored on your console’s hard drive. But what if something happens and your PS4 can’t be turned on? Or worse yet, if your hard drive crashes? Fortunately, there’s a way to back up your PS4’s hard drive before anything bad happens. Here’s how to do it:

  1. First, make sure that your PS4 is turned off and unplugged from the power outlet.
  2. Next, open the system menu (by pressing the button on the front of the system) and select “System Settings.”
  3. Under “System Storage,” select “Hard Drive.” You’ll see a list of all of your installed games and apps. Select the one you want to backup (usually this will be “My Games & Apps”).
  4. On the next screen, you’ll see a list of all of your saved data (games, apps, etc.). Select everything you want to backup (this will take some time). When it’s done, press X to close System Settings and return to the main menu.
  5. Now plug in your USB drive or SD card and copy everything from your Hard Drive onto it (you may have to scroll down). Once everything is copied over, unplug the USB drive or SD card and plug it back into your PS4 system. Press X again to close System Settings and return to the main menu.
  6. Your console should now be ready to use! Just load up whatever game or app you wanted backed up and enjoy! ..
