When you’re working with illustrations, it’s important to keep in mind the anchor points. Anchor points are points on a canvas that help you keep your illustrations in place. In Illustrator, there are three types of anchor points: anchors, which are used to hold an illustration in place; grid anchors, which help you create grids; and bias anchors, which help you adjust the position of an illustration. To adjust an anchor point in Illustrator, use the following steps:
- Choose the anchor point you want to adjust and click on it.
- The Anchor Point dialog box will appear. This dialog box contains information about the anchor point and its properties.
- In the Anchor Point Properties dialog box, you can change the following: • The anchoring point’s width and height: This setting affects how wide or tall the anchoring point is and how much space it takes up on the canvas. You can also change its color if desired. • The anchoring point’s location: This setting affects how far from the center of the canvas the anchoring point is located and how close to other elements it appears (grid anchors).
- The anchoring point’s orientation: This setting affects how upright or down-right an anchoring point is (grid anchors).
- The anchoring point’s position within a layer: This setting affects how close or far from other layers an anchoring point appears (grid anchors).
- The anchoring point’s opacity: This setting determines whether or not any part of the anchored image is visible when clicked (grid anchors).
- To remove an anchorpoint from a canvas, use one of these methods: #Elements > Remove Anchor Point
